SAN GIORGIO
L’edificio oggi presente sulla cima della collina ha origine alla fine del 1400 o inizio del 1500, ma il colle è sede di un antichissimo castello e di un luogo di culto ad esso collegato. Le testimonianze legate alle precedenti costruzioni si perdono nel tempo e fondono con il mito, dando origine a racconti e leggende: la più celebre racconta che un drago si nascondesse tra le rovine del castello, uscendo solo nelle notti di luna piena e devastando i terreni circostanti. Domato con una benedizione e addormentato da San Bartolomeo, il drago abita il colle senza recare più alcun danno, ma solo fintanto che la chiesa di San Giorgio è presente sul colle.

The building on the hilltop today originated in the late 1400s or early 1500s, but the hill is the site of an ancient castle and a place of worship connected to it. Evidence of earlier buildings is lost in time and merges with myth, giving rise to tales and legends: the most famous one tells of a dragon hiding in the ruins of the castle, only coming out on full moon nights and devastating the surrounding land.
