Borgo Cadenone
In questa località si intrecciano vicende e testimonianze di varia natura, alcune probabilmente legate al nome che caratterizza il borgo, sede di un’importante strada già in epoca romana che collegava Polaveno alle più importanti vie europee.
Si dice che a seguito della pestilenza che sconvolse l’Europa nel 1630 qui furono tese delle catene per fermare il flusso di viaggiatori e merci isolando e proteggendo Passirano dall’espandersi dell’epidemia, con l’utilizzo di una cascina del borgo come area di quarantena. A Borgo Cadenone inoltre gli abitanti di Passirano erano soliti in passato lavare le catene dei camini.

Various events and testimonies are intertwined in this locality, some probably linked to the name that characterises the village, the site of an important road already in Roman times that connected Polaveno to the most important European routes.
It is said that following the plague that devastated Europe in 1630, chains were stretched here to stop the flow of travellers and goods, isolating and protecting Passirano from the spread of the epidemic, with the use of a village’s farmhouse as a quarantine area. In Borgo Cadenone, the inhabitants of Passirano also used to wash the chimneys’ chains in the past.
